Adler's Bath Time

Bath time at the Dolleschel house can be interesting as we have two boys who love the bath. The problem is they also like to "bless" the bath water. I video taped Adler yesterday getting a bath from Daddy as they are beginning to coo. Daddy only speaks German to them so they will only know the parts of their body in German.

Snuggle TIme

This is not the best photo but I thought it was so sweet. The boys just love each other. When together they have too be touching one another. This is one of their nap times.

2 Month Check-up

Believe it or not the boys are now 10 weeks old and had their first round of vaccines. Bernd meet me at the doctors office so they both could be held at the same time. Unfortunately, they are getting so big that I cannot hold them together anymore, plus I needed moral support. The boys did amazing, although Bodhi gave us his saddest cry. After the appointment they took a long nap and poor Bodhi woke up with a low grade fever. Tylenol to the rescue. For you mothers out there new research suggest that Tylenol decrease the efficacy of the vaccines, or so I was told by the Pediatrician. I think I need to see that study repeated.

The boys have grown tremendously. They have doubled their birth rate and are not even three months old. Bodhi has now out grown Adler and weighs 11 lbs 11 oz (43%)and Adler weighs 11 lbs 4 oz (30%). I have been a little concerned about their quick weight gain but everyone seems to think its fine. They are now eating between 4 and 5 ounces every 2.5 to 3 hours. I think they are going to be big boys.

Mommy and her Boys

There never seems to be any pictures of mommy and the boys because I am always behind the camara. Yesterday, Bernd took a few photos so I figured I would share them. The boys continue to grow. We actually ventured out to the "real" mall yesterday and like always was bombarded with tons of questions. Everyone thinks they are so cute. I hope this is still true when they are two and screaming.

Buffalo Update

As a lot of you know, I am behind on blogging. It has been quite a challenge moving and taking care of the boys by myself. Hopefully we are settling into a routine or maybe not. Since we have moved the boys have started turning from their side to their bellies, holding their heads up for extended amount of time, and Adler has achieved sleeping 5 hours at night. Bodhi however seems to have a higher metabolism and is up every 3 hours. We are looking forward to the day they both sleep fully at night. We have also established a Pediatrician, and so far Adler has had his first appt. On July 8th he weighed 9 lbs 2 oz and was 22 inches long. He remains in the 25th percentile for weight and 48th percentile for height. We soon will visit the Pediatric Pulmonologist for a second opinion about his cyst. They both will go on August 5th for their shots, however don't tell them.

We have managed to get out of the house a couple of times. My first trip was to Kohls in which I managed to stay 40 minutes and see nothing. It must have been Senior Citizen Day, because all the little old ladies had to stop and visit. The boys quickly became tired of all the staring and questions. The second trip was with Bernd to BJs. This trip Adler decided to eat early and took a month of Sundays to finish his bottle. I seen people come in and check out during our feeding time. So, we finally finish the bottle and by aisle 5 Bodhi decides its his turn. Then we have a crying fest and people stopping to ask are they twins, are they boys or girls, and what are their names. I think to the general public their names will be Fred and Sam because Adler and Bodhi seems to raise way too many additional questions. Hopefully outings will get better or dad will be enjoying a lot of baby sitting.

Other than that our life continues but in a somewhat form of organized chaos. No one tells you that twins bring about 30 plus diaper changes a day and between 16 to 18 bottles. Needless to say mom has become somewat of an octupus.

Niagara Falls, Buffalo NY

After our long trip to NY and a couple of days of unpacking we all decided to take a break and visit the falls. Unfortunately, I think it was the hottest day of the year here in Buffalo. Although the boys did fantastic, it was way too hot for them and we cut the trip short. Next time we will listen to the weather man.

We have Moved...

Well, we have officially moved to Buffalo, NY. While it is great for our family, it is bitter sweet to leave the south. I could not ask for better boys for the travel. We stopped about every three hours to feed their hungry bellies. Believe it or not we made the trip in 13 hours. The boys have now visited Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New York. Five states down and they are only 4 weeks old. Hopefully, more travels to come...
